TwitterにてGoogleのジョン・ミューラー氏に対し「301リダイレクトはずっと設定しておかないといけないのか？それともしばらく経った後に削除しても良いのか？」と質問が寄せられました。
回答によると、最低でも1年はリダイレクトしておく必要があるとのこと。
If they’re no longer needed after a while (usually I recommend keeping them at least a year), and you don’t see traffic to them, then removing them is fine since it makes long-term maintenance easier.

ですが、最初の回答では「After a few years」と書かれてありますので、「最低でも1年、数年がbest」が正解かな？と思いました。
301 is permanent, it means forever and that’s a mighty long time, but I’m here to tell you, there’s something else: the server maintenance.

301リダイレクトの解除の仕方
至って簡単です。.htaccessファイルに追記したリダイレクトコードを削除するだけ。

この方は1年後に削除し、順位は戻ったけどアクセス数は戻らなかったようです。

この方は8か月後に削除しましたが大きな違いはなかったようです。
リダイレクト数にもよるようですので、当サイトでは3年くらいそのままにしておこうかと思います。
